The AW12 Trend: Fetish Chic

Empowering the female form, look to dominatrix styles to add a touch of the sordid into everyday outfits. Blending sexiness with the sublime think bondage with straps, cuffs, netting and peek-a-boo styles.

Wear the waist belts of Paul Seville over your coat, dress or your lingerie. It’s possible, Louis Vuitton showed us that it can be classy. But the trend continues from the small leather suspenders, harness to a skirt. Nowadays we don’t just wear leather pants, skirts or dresses, our options have been broadened to leather t-shirts, leather lingerie as bras and even leather knickers.

Fetish isn’t taboo anymore. Remember the time when the Hervé Leger dresses were considered too short and tight?  Now they’re almost like a welcome bonus. Who needs long and baggy when you can wear short and tight, if you can stand the heat ofcourse 😉
Bondage was forced upon the runways. Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen, Givenchy and a good (viewing) overview of the bondage look, can be seen at Thakoon, it literally gives you the feeling of being bondaged. But who said that it only has to be your dress or lingerie? Maison Close also shows you affordable ways to  wear the bondage trend.

Also the leather we can’t forget. Everybody was blown away by the show from Louis Vuitton but of course Hermes stood out of their luxuriousness.

Experiment with texture blending suedes, leathers and furs with braiding, sheers and binding to switch up layers and silhouettes. Bras, unexpected flashes of skin and sheer fabrics combined with leathers all complete the trend in a palette of blacks and silvers.
